Wash and dry: Start with clean, dry hair. Wash your hair without conditioner to ensure the micro beads grip the hair better.
Section your hair: Divide your hair into small, manageable sections using a rat-tail comb. Clip the upper layers of your hair out of the way so you can work with the lower layers first.
I-tip hair extensions come with keratin tips at the ends. You should also have a set of micro beads ready to go.
Choose the correct shade: Select I-tip extensions that match the color of your natural hair for a seamless look.
Take a small section of natural hair, about the size of a pencil, from the lower layers of your head. You don’t want to make this section too thick because the beads will need to hold the natural hair and the extension hair together.
Using your bead applicator tool or a bead loop tool, slide a micro bead onto the natural hair section. Position the bead about 1–2 centimeters from the root to avoid discomfort.
Tip: Be careful not to place the bead too close to the scalp, as it can cause tension and discomfort.
Insert the tip of the I-tip extension (the keratin bond) into the micro bead alongside the natural hair. Hold the extension securely, ensuring it is aligned with the natural hair.
Using the hair extension pliers, clamp the micro bead tightly around both the natural hair and the extension. The bead should grip the hair firmly, securing the I-tip extension in place.
Be careful not to clamp the bead too tightly to avoid damaging your natural hair.
Repeat the process for the next section of natural hair. Work your way upwards, continuing to add I-tip extensions until you've achieved your desired look.
Make sure to space the beads evenly for a natural, well-blended result.
Once all the I-tip extensions are installed, gently comb through your hair to blend the extensions with your natural hair.
If you notice any gaps or unevenness, you can add more sections or adjust the placement of the beads for a smoother, more seamless blend.
After the extensions are installed, you may want to trim them to match the length of your natural hair or create a specific style.
You can curl, straighten, or style your hair as usual. Just be sure to avoid excessive heat directly on the beads.
